About braylon edwards

Gary Myers of New York Daily News tweeted last night that the Titans are interested in former Cleveland Browns and New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards. This would be an interesting move for the Titans. Edwards would come with some baggage, but if you can get him to focus he can be star- sound like anyone else you know?

Of course we don't know how deep this interest is. None of the guys that cover the Titans have said anything about it, so it makes me wonder if it was just a case of Mike Reinfeldt making a call to an agent just to see where they were.

Myers says that the Vikings, Bears and Redskins are also interested in Edwards.

The whole big name free agent receiver thing has never really worked out for the Titans, but for the right money, Edwards is a guy that could page huge dividends. He had a huge season back in 2007 when he caught 80 passes for 1,289 yards and 16 touchdowns. His number haven't been that prolific since but were still solid in 2010
If Edwards is a Titan, then no opposing defense will put nine men on the line to stop CJ. With Cook, there would be 3-4 dangerous targets for Hasselback, who still has a good arm, and CJ should have better opportunities.

Antonio cromartie

Yesterday I was starting to get a little nervous about the Oakland Raiders 2011 NFL free agency campaign. Gaither was out and Khalif Barnes was re-signed, and there weren't any rumors of them pursuing anyone in free agency. On top of that I saw a couple of reports on Antonio Cromartie and the Raiders were no longer mentioned as suitors.

My worry was that the Raiders were having a hard time of finding ways to get far enough under the cap to sign guys. I feel much better today. The Raiders started the day off by re-signing Huff and then there is this report by Jason LaCanfora on NFL.com:
It is not that I think Anotonio Cromartie is going to be a huge difference maker. In fact, I would be shocked if the Jets let him get away at this point. What makes me smile about this move is that the Raiders are still trying. They are still out there looking for ways to improve and they are relegated to bargain basement shopping.

against the damn Dolphins. HELL No, we need a vet. Cro is ok. Not good not bad. CJ is bad. Routt is ok also, we need 2 ok guys to win games. Or else we will get burned badly by good Qb’s like Rivers…

Peyton manning

The Colts have Peyton Manning in the fold for five more years.

Manning, the Colts’ franchise quarterback since 1998, has agreed to a five-year, $90 million contract, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting.

Colts owner Jim Irsay has said that Manning deserves to be the highest-paid player in the league, but Manning said he was willing to take less than the Colts were offering if it meant they’d have more salary cap space for some of his teammates. Mortensen reports that Irsay was willing to go up to $100 million over five years.

We don’t yet know how the numbers break down — how much is guaranteed, how big a signing bonus Manning received — but Manning will average $18 million a year for five more years. Manning agreed to a deal with the same average value as Tom Brady got on his four-year, $72 million contract with the Patriots.

And Manning will be the Colts’ quarterback through the 2015 season, when he’ll be 39 years old.Colts QB Peyton Manning has agreed to a five-year deal worth $90 million to stay in Indianapolis, according to an ESPN report.

After publicly resisting a deal that would make him the NFL's highest-paid quarterback, Manning's new contract is reportedly worth $18 million a year -- equal to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

ESPN reports that Manning wanted less money so the Colts would have the cap space to sign free agents and strengthen the depth chart.

Manning, 35, is recovering from a May 23 neck surgery to remove a bulging disk that bothered him last season. The rehab has reportedly taken longer than expected.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell could not say Friday when the four-time MVP would return in full.

"Like a professional, like he always does, in a first-class manner, work harder than any man on the planet to get himself ready faster than anybody, (but) he's not ready right now," Caldwell said. "Nobody works any harder, nobody is more diligent, more dedicated and he certainly has great faith in our staff that works with him here and at some point in time he'll be ready to go and when that is, we'll turn him loose."

SITKA, Alaska -- Residents of Sitka, Alaska, are using social media to share reports about bear activity in the area.
KCAW radio reports the Facebook site "Sitka Bear Report" already has more than 200 followers.
The page details bear sightings in the southeast Alaska city, where more bears have been sighted because of a poor berry crop and dry weather.
Police report more than 100 calls about problem bears, including one dead dog and some chickens. But police caution that doesn't seem to be an unusually high number.
State Fish and Game area management biologist Phil Mooney says it might just seem like they are more bears around now because of the late spring and a lack of bear activity earlier this summer.

Manchester united vs barcelona 2011

It’s hard to believe, but Manchester United’s summer tour of the United States comes to an end tonight after they play Barcelona in a rematch of the 2011 Champions League Final, at FEDEX Field in Landover, Maryland. Just think, one week from tomorrow, Manchester United kicks off the ceremonial start to the new season when they play Manchester City in the Community Shield. Time flies!

Out of all of the exhibition games played around the world this summer, this game is the one that’s the most highly anticipated. Of course, it’s a friendly, so the result isn’t going to make or break either team, but I’m confident that both clubs will want to walk away with a victory in front of what promises to be a passionate crowd.
If you are one of the lucky ones going to the game, be sure to let us know in the comments section below. And if you’re interested in writing about the game or taking photos so they can be published on EPL Talk, send me an e-mail at thegaffer[at]epltalk[dot]com.

On their tour of the United States, Manchester United took a break on Thursday to visit The White House in Washington DC. For a pretty revealing insight into what the players and staff saw, as well as which ones looked interested (and not), take a look at the following photo gallery which has more than 100 images from the visit.

Nick lachey

The happy couple recently tied-the-knot on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island in an intimate destination wedding that was described as “picture-perfect.”

“We see celebrity weddings all the time but this one was a happily ever after, a really great love story,” Jen Garcia, of People magazine, told Good Morning America.

The location, however, wasn’t the only thing that could be described as stunning. According to 37-year-old Lachey, his first glimpse of Minnillo in her wedding gown was a moment he will never forget.

‘It literally took my breath away,’ he told People magazine. ‘It’s a moment you fantasize about, and I was certainly not disappointed.’
