Tar baby

Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-Co.) has apologized for the controversial “tar baby” comment he made on a local radio show last week while discussing President Barack Obama and the debt ceiling debate.

On the 630 KHOW Capils and Silverman radio show, Lamborn said:

“Even if some people say, ‘Well the Republicans should have done this or they should have done that,’ they will hold the President responsible. Now, I don’t even want to have to be associated with him. It’s like touching a tar baby and you get it, you’re stuck, and you’re a part of the problem now and you can’t get away.”

On Monday, Lamborn sent a personal letter to President Obama “apologizing for using a term some find insensitive,” his office said in a press release. The congressman was “attempting to tell a radio audience last week that the president's policies have created an economic quagmire for the nation and are responsible for the dismal economic conditions our country faces. He regrets that he chose the phrase 'tar baby,' rather than the word 'quagmire.' The congressman is confident that the president will accept his heartfelt apology."

Lamborn told the Denver Post “I absolutely intended no offense, and if this is at all on his radar screen, I am sure that he will not take offense and he'll be happy to accept my apology because he is a man of character.”
The 11th hour budget deal may save the country from default but is unlikely to save either the president or the Republicans from continued political fallout for taking the country near the brink of financial calamity. In 1996, the budget negotiations were tough, but the result was heralded by almost all as a great step forward for the country and a return to the balanced budget. That budget deal made winners out of President Clinton and the Republicans. This deal doesn't do that, but it offers a lot of frank lessons to be learned. there is an undercurrent of anti black sentiment surrounding this presidency on the part
of some people.

.i have personally heard comments denigrated the president based on
his color..unacceptable..does anyone understand that when you denigrate the president
you denigrate the presidency and its stature around the world...does anyone care that
Obama was elected by a substantial majority and that whether or not you agree with his
handling of the economy he is entitled to the respect that comes with the office

The worst of it is this guy is trying to blame President Obama for things that were caused by Republicans during the 14 years ( Congress from 1994 to 2006, Presidency 2001 to 2009) they controlled the government.

National Debt increase by tax deduction and the two unfunded wars.

The banking and real estate crisis by deregulation and lack of enforcement.(remember the phrase "get government out of the way of business"?)
